General Motors has launched its first Hatchback in India (ofcourse we are not considering the Opel Corsa at the moment) before the Christmas season. The Aveo U-VA is a premium hatchback with a 1.2 litre petrol engine that will cost you close to 4 lakh (base model).
The Aveo U-VA is in direct competition to the Getz and the Maruti Swift which has been a revelation from MUL. The other variants of the U-VA are priced at Rs. 4.39 lakh and 4.79 lakh. The car comes with a 4 cylinder engine, along with 76 bhp power.
The new Aveo U-VA, Mr Chaba said, “We have re-engineered the car to suit Indian conditions and it carries a local content of less than 50 per cent, which we plan to take up to about 55 per cent in the coming time.”
Overall the car will come with a weaker engine compared to the Swift or the Getz, but will be more spacious and definitely will give you more for less.

I heard of this car and want to say that if u will cut down its price by Rs 20000 then it will become a good story….also it will be tagged between santro and getz and in indian market there is no car in this range….Everybody will prefer buying this car.Whomsoever is planning to buy santro,indica will buy Aveo uva…….It will really become a largest selling car in India

Dilip, don’t expect the average to be anything above 10… its similar to the Getz if you are comparing the mileage.

looks smaller than Getz or Indica, however offers more space. Interiors need upgrading. If this is done and price reduced by 30K it may be the besyt seller in the segment.
Fuel efficiency needs to be made more transparent.Engine is weaker in comparison to Getz and Swift- this neeeds attention.
I am having a tough time convincing my son to let me buy it for him.He seems to be prefering the Indica. The debate is on.

The price delaers are quoting for base model is 4.1 lacks plus all other charges like insurance, RTO Registration, Octroi etc.
So what is the correct price in Navi Mumbai or Mumbai ( Basic Price)

i looked at all models in this range, and finally decide to book u-va ,
this is best car, with best features is on road performence , spacious , look and finally made by “WORLD BEST” GM MOTORS..
I ADVICE YOU ALL TO BUY THIS RATHER THAN SWIFT OR GETZ..
one can check AVEO-5 LAUNCHED THIS YEAR IN US ,
same model launched in india with brand –= U-VA …

This is not AVEO-5 as launched in US. We will have to wait till the new car hits Indian Markets, as usual late from other markets. Look at the front grille and u will notice the difference. A smaller engine is better in city drivings, hoping that Chevy will launch the new model of the car. The new car looks like Fabia.

i purchased u-va car on 12/2/2008.It is a good car. but in manufacturing there is no provision in driving sheet to
be adjusted up and down.Driving sheet is not convenient comperitably to its price. Side Indicator shields are made from simple plastic and are not durable.
Provision for door speakers are fixed without shield and ruffly.in the vehicle no extra electric fuge provided during delivery.
