Chevy Spark Launching In India

Add comments

General Motors has finally come out and given everyone an official work on the new small car after the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA. The Chevrolet Spark, which is the updated Matiz was going to be launched last year but due to some problems it wasn’t possible. This time the company is sure that they will be able to give a successful launch to the Chevy Spark in India around April-May.

The Company is doing pretty well and the Chevrolet Aveo has helped the company as it has firmly established itself better than the Fiesta or even Tata Indigo. The Chevy Spark could be priced around 4lacs but this is not official yet. We will have to wait and see what happens next.

It looks quite exciting in style considering that it was first launched in 1998. Worth a serious thought for the hatch buyer in India.

For me - I still am holding on to the Matiz 1999 model which I bought second hand in 2000 - mostly for old time love sake. The body has corroded profusely (bad metal used by Daewoo from the then Indian supplier), the engine is a gozzler (7 km with A/C in City) and tyres are just finished. It has done only 32000 (thirty two thousand) kms. Hope Spark will be better.

However, I will certainly buy a new one for its old and beautiful looks - ‘Old wine in Old bottle?’

Is there technical match between matiZ & Spark? What are the differences? Will Spark spares cater matiZ?
