Tata Motors launched new variants of their Tata Spacio car on wednesday. The car has been priced at 5.1 lakhs for the lower version and 5.4 lakhs for the higher one. These prices are indicative and Delhi ex-showroom price.
The TATA Spaicio Gold Plus is powered by a diesel engine and comes with a powerful torque. The Spacio Gold also comes with a power steering, bucket seats and refined interiors.
The Tata Sumo variant is being replaced by the TATA Spacio slowly and steadily. The fuel efficiency of the car is about 15 kilometers per litre.

The new Fiat Palio Stile, also much known as the Palio 1100 is now available in the Indian market. The car will be available in two variants, 1.1 litre engine and also the 1.6 litre engine.
The 1.1 litre version will be sold for Rs 3.49 lakh for the base model and Rs 3.90 lakh for the higher one. The 1.6 litre will be much more expensive and starting at 4.31 lakh. These prices are ofcourse ex-showroom Delhi.
The Palio Stile 1.6 which comes with a 1.6 litre engine is dubbed the ‘Palio Stile Sport’ which delivers a max power of 100 PS @ 5500 rpm along with a torque of 137 Nm @ 4250 rpm.
Fiat is also planning to launch two more cars in India going by the recent press reports of the company. Fiat’s new cars will be the Grande Punto and the Linea.

The first car to come out of the 50-50 : TATA - Fiat joint venture has debuted and its the Palio Stile. Pronounciation ~ [Stee-lay]. The Palio Stile will be launched tomorrow in Mumbai. The car will be manufactured in their Ranjanagaon facility here in Maharashtra.
The Ranjanagaon car plant is going to be one of the biggest and is owned jointly by Tata - Fiat in a bid to up their market share. The unit will soon be capable of delivering more than 2,00,000 engines and transmissions for both the car makers as early as 2008.
The rejuvenated Palio Stile comes with a 1.1 litre engine and 70% of the car is assembled with parts manufactured in India. The car plan currently can only make about 30/ day but that will increase as they up the capacity by the year end.
Hyundai Motors India Ltd has come out with the new Getz Prime priced at close to Rs. 3.9 lakh. The premium hatchback will come with a 1.1 litre petrol engine and 1.3 litre engine. The latter will be priced at Rs. 5.24 lacs.
The Hyundai Getz is now also being exported from India to a few African and Asian countires from its plants here.
“We are targeting to sell about 30,000 units of ‘Getz Prime’ in domestic market and 40,000 units in the export market during the remaining part of this calender year,” said, HMIL Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Arvind Saxena.
Lets see what happens to the Swift (priced at 4 lakhs) sales in comparision to the Getz.
Mahindra & Mahindra has finally launched their first joint venture car with Renault. The Renault Logan was launched in Mumbai today for a price of 4.28 lakh for the petrol variant.
The Mahindra Renault Logan diesel will be priced at around 5.47 lakh which is pretty steep compared to the others in the same segmenet. The company plans to manufacture 50 thousand units of the Logan from its Maharashtra plant which cost them about 7 billion rupees to make.
The Renault Logan is the first right hand car drive from the European car maker and ofcourse its first car in India.
