Well i came across this photo on a forum stating that it is the new 1 Lakh rupee car that Tata will launch in India in late 2008. We are not totally satisfied with the photo and that its actually that ‘dream car’ Ratan Tata keeps talking about, but you can see it for yourself and decide.
The Tata group had displayed a very similar car at a ‘Concept car’ show in Switzerland and named it the - TATA Indiva. So leaving things as they are, draw your own conclusions and opinions.

Car is impressive however TATA seems to have lost the essence of greatness.
Look at the phone services its deplorable the internet facility is equally bad.
Hopefully the car would be a reflection of the greatness of the TATA’s rather than rolling out on a once great name.

This is Indiva, the concept cat introduced in the 2002 Geneva Auto show. This is what the facelifted Invica V2 may look like. It can never be the 1-lac car, which has its engine at the back of the car.

Why does’nt anybody realize that it is not possible to make this car with 1 lac Rupees? This is a concept car shown in the Geneva Motor Show in 2002, and it is not yet sure if this will be made in India.

It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to produce a car in a LAKH of Rupees. With a one Lakh FAMILY CAR concept, TATA had been playing around with people emotions and hype since a decade. When is stress IMPOSSIBLE, I mean impossible. If you consider the road worthiness in terms to safety, power and mileage, a car manufacturing cost would exceed the highlighted MRP.

This TATA Indiva is not the 1 lakh rupee car.The new Tata MPV, the Tata Indiva has been designed as a compact, space-efficient vehicle and is among the shortest seven-seaters conceived, with an overall length of just under 4.3 metres. Styled by the Italian design house IDEA, it has a high seating position, which enhances passenger comfort, safety and visibility.
The interior layout is flexible, with the third row of seats being removable, which frees up interior space. Sporting 16″ alloy wheels, it has been designed as a streamlined people’s carrier, which is more car-like with on-board electronic systems integrating high level of in-car entertainment, navigation and internet connectivity.
The concept has a permanent sunroof and a headliner with LED lighting, which gives the interior an airy, spacious feeling. The MPV front is in continuity with the Tata brand image, with the contours of the grill being similar to that on the Indica and the two-seater coupe concept, the Tata Aria, which was shown at the earlier Geneva Motor Show. This new concept from TATA is likely to have wide appeal among European consumers, and is expected to be attractive for the evolving Indian market as well.

As per the news the 1 lakh rupee car will be launched in to the indian market at july 2008, and the look will also be better than maruti zen(older on/calalyst). It’ll be a 4 seater car also will provide better safety than Maruti 800.

Hi, model of the car is nice, but the engine power is somewhat low. Moreoever, you can’t play device a music system in it. It also lacks AC facility which is a mandate in summers. For two-wheeler owners, it can be a good deal.
