TATA Motors came out with a announcement of their new common rail diesel engine (CRDi) engine with the Tata Indigo DICOR today. This is an entry level sedan with a diesel engine. The car will cost approximately Rs. 5.25 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi price.
The Dicor will come with the Indigo LS version. The car comes with 70PS with a 140nm torque. TATAs have previously offered a diesel version of the Indigo with the Indigo XL which was priced at 6.2 lakhs, so this one is a cheaper version and will definitely appeal more to the Indian customers.
The Tata Indigo LS Dicor is now one of the cheapest diesel Sedan in the country.

Going by the sales of the earlier versions of indigo I dont see a reason why it wouldnt sell well. Also, as far as the Indian price-conscious cnsumer is concerned, this car is sure to be a bit.

Ahamed,
I got an Indigo LX dicor in feb 2007. Initially there were some problems of the fuel injector getting out causing a fuel spill. But TELCO ppl fixed it with a clamp for all DICOR vehicles. Not it is fine. The power is also good. But I bought the vehicle for its steady body. Price is too good compared to fiesta and verna.

I own my Indigo LS dicor starting JUN 2007(6300 Kms covered). Till date I am getting 14.5Kmpl with ac in city(Hyderabad traffic) & 18.5Kmpl in highway(5people with boot fully loaded). Great value for money.
There is a great difference in clutch smoothness when compared to the TDi version. The dicor is too smooth.

I bought a Tata Indigo Dicor LS in Aug07 and am very happy with its performance. A minor issue is the squeeky noise the engine makes in the morning while starting but it goes off after you warm the engine.
I checked out Maruti Esteem, Ford Fiesta, Hyundia Verna, Mahindra Logan and found Tata Indigo Dicor scored over others in terms of:
1. Cost - There is no other diesal care that you can get at 5.25 Lakhs, that has power steering/windows, remote fuel lid/dicky, aeroplane style reading lights (just too good) etc.
2. Sitting comfort - The seats are not sinking types, so getting in & out is easy.
3. Power - At 1495CC its a powerful car
4. Looks - Although looks wise I thought Fiesta looks better, but Tata Indigo is not bad either.
5. Servicability - Easily available unlike some of the foreign brands.
Overall a good choice. All the best!!

i have purchased an indigo csls dicor on 31.07.08. The power and performance are good. It would be appreciable if the dealer or the service centre keeps a track of the performance of the vehicle, particularly its fuel efficiency. As stated by Rajkumar, the squeeky noise causes concern at times, but it is not there all the time. It is recommended that some complimentary accessories like seat covers or body covers can be offered to customers because this model does not carry any cash offers. If it is given reterospective effect, I will be glad.
