This may be old news but many people still are not aware of this, which is the reason we are running a post on this. The word from the company after launching the Hyundai i10 is that they have already begun plans on coming out with a follow up to the Hyundai small car.

The Hyundai i20 will be a very similar version and will almost resemble the i10 in looks. The only difference is that the Hyundai i20 will run on diesel and not petrol. This will appeal to the customers who have a greater running and want to cut their fuel costs, particularly with rising oil prices.

This year is going to be all about the lower running cost cars with the lauch of the Santro LPG and Accent LPG and CNG versions - which are all due to be launched before December 2008.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd has launched the Santro CNG at Rs. 3.25 Lakh. The car will come with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty and also a coupled warranty for the CNG kit.

The Santro CNG version will also come with a manual change and selector switch, that will enable the driver to change from gasoline to CNG and the other way around.

The CNG capacity in the car is about 12kgs and the car will easily be able to run at the cost of only Re.1 per kilometre. This will definitely lower the consumers cost by a big margin. The Santro CNG will definitely give a good fight to the Maruti WagonR which also comes with a LPG variant.
