The Maruti Suzuki India group has launched the A-Star in India which is produced in Haryana at teh Manesar factory. The car has been desgined by Rajesh Kumar and Saurabh Singh.
The car is a Euro 5-compliant model with lower Co2 emissions. The car is going to be the replacement for the Alto in export markets. In India the car will be a direct competition to the Hyundai i10.
The price of the Maruti A-Star is a good 10% higher than the i10. The base version of the A-star will be about 3.6lacs.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift DZiRE is all set to be launched by the end of this month. This has come in a late announcement yesterday by India’s largest car manufacturer , Maruti Suzuki. They have said that they plan to launch the eagerly aniticipated and improved swift sedan, - Swift ‘DZire’ this month.
The company are focussed on phasing out the old Maruti Esteem and replace it with a re-modelled version of the already hit - Maruti Swift.
The car will be priced at around 5 to 6 lac, but this has not been confirmed by the company. Only estimates i add again. The Swift DZire will have a features that have never been offered in India by any low priced sedans..
A few of these features include -
1. Fully integrated stereo on with steering mounted audio controls.
2. Automatic climate control system,
3. Dual front airbags
4. ABS
Maruti has plans to launch the Swift sedan with the new-generation 1.3-litre diesel engine and a 1.3-litre petrol version early next year. Sources say that this could be as early as January. The car will be priced lower than the Maruti SX4 sedan which is above 6 lakhs.
Maruti claim that the Swift Sedan will cost about 5.5 lakhs ex-showroom. This car is due to replace the ever popular Maruti Esteem in the long run and once this model has been fully launched the Esteem is definitely going to be phased out of the market.
