Volvo Bombing India With - S80 XC90 C30 C70 S40 S60

The Ford division of Volvo Cars is all set to bomb India with plenty of cars in various segments. The plans are already in place for the launch of Volvo S80 and the XC90 in the coming months. In addition to this the company is going to go even more aggressive by plans to launch their new hatchback C30 and C70 in the coming year.

“We will take Ford’s support in back-office operations like HR (human resources), homologation, IT, logistics, and accounting, but Volvo Cars would remain responsible for products, pricing, and marketing,” said the managing director of Volvo Car India.

The S80 and the XC90 could be launched with a 2.5 litre diesel engine along with 3.2 and 4.4 litre petrol variant. They have managed to rope in 3 big dealers in cities like Mumbai, Delhi and a couple other metros.

Volvo To Enter India In 2007

Volvo will now make an entry to the Indian passenger car market through three distributors. Mumbai and Delhi will be the obvious two centres while the third will soon be decided.

Volvo are also soon to start a bus building factory in Bangalore which will definitely open up some job opportunities for people there. Volvo is a market leader for luxury express coaches here and will now try its hand in the passenger car segment.

The cars which soon will be launched are the Volvo XC90 and S80 model. Volvo will be another major company to start its investment after other major companies from Sweden like SKF, ABB and Ericsson.
